Thanks. Many of the wildlife area have large fields of sunflowers. The department of natural resources plants and maintains them for wildlife. Which is great considering they are in the middle of marsh / wood lands.

The coast here is a huge North American migration zone. This area (ACE Basin) is 325,000+ acres so our DNR plants various fields for different types of animals. We do have some bright hot and sunny spots 🙂

We try to sit along the edge of the fields to capture any small birds feeding. Recently people have seen various Buntings.
