When the Herons come into the swamp rookery now there is no sense of urgency. They drift in, almost casual.

Any other Herons waiting on the trees are most likely adults or juveniles that will not get a free feeding any longer.

There will still be Herons coming and going for a while, but not near the numbers of a month ago.

Come next month if we want to photograph Great Blues we will need to hunt for them out in the marshes. And that’s July, in a hot marsh. There will not be many long days out for us then.
