Young Great Blue Herons On Their Own

These Great Blues most likely came from the same nest. This was taken at the far end of the rookery, away from any nesting trees.

When the birds first go on their own I have noticed there is usually one bird that wants to stay close with their sibling. They have been on their own for about a month now. Eventually they will split and become solitary until next spring when they find a mate.
