I had been trying to photograph a Great Blue when this one appeared. He had been on the bank but I didn’t see him until the splash, he jumped in the water.
At this marsh the bank is steep and it’s easy to miss even big ones over the edge. It does get your attention when you suddenly hear a big splash. Obvious what it is since nobody jumps in for a quick swim here.
On a clear morning a nice reflection of the sky is possible.
Very nice the blue around the alligator’s face!
The water is much cleaner out in marshes. The Alligators much bigger too.
