The Wildlife Management Areas have fields of cultivated grasses, Sunflowers, and other green things I have no knowledge of. They are basically providing food for all the various native animals of South Carolina (and lets not forget the Boars who really don’t belong anywhere around here).
Wild Turkey’s are very common, yet I had never seen any chicks.

They appeared with the adults in fields the other day. These are not farmers fields so the plants are high, and the babies not so much. But I did get ‘head shots’.
