I had been waiting for this Egret to move into the shallows to fish. The water looked alive with tiny jumping minnows.

Instead of fishing the bird walked the edge until finally flying off to the other side of the dike.

As I usually do I had captured a short 4 – 5 shot burst of images. All but the first had this head bobbing in the water in the background.

While it seems unlikely that was the reason for not fishing, they get much closer all the time, it’s all I could think of.

I did not get to see the other side of this Egret. There is one around that area who appears to be wounded. Maybe Alligator shy now?
