Spoonbill Catching Fish, Jealous Tricolored Heron

These are unusual shots. Roseate Spoonbills typical feed on small minnows, crustaceans, and creepy things in the mud. Here the bird has caught a decent size fish.

To add a little more drama this Tricolored Heron was sticking to his side in case some type of ‘opportunity’ presented itself.

Photographs like these reinforce our mantra ‘if you don’t go out, you don’t get the shot’.

That mantra is the only reason I am even upright at this moment. After a full day shooting in the salt water sun extra motivation is required. Ellen wasn’t out yesterday…so I am being motivated.
