This Spoonbill was captured with the light showing her pink color to it’s best. This time of year some birds, especially young ones, are almost white.

Beautiful capture bird and capture!
One of the large marsh areas is very low. Some flocks have moved in to take advantage. Food was so plentiful most birds ignored me and came much closer than usual.
Beautiful Ted! I hadn’t previously noticed black on the wing-tips – interesting!
They also have bright orange tail feathers in spring. The colors are actually fading now, breeding is over.
I’ve seen enough of your photos now to know exactly what you’re talking about and it amazes me how much their colouring changes!
Extraordinary colour and pose!
We had some good, some bad, light here. We also had flocks of Spoonbills feeding in shallow waters.
Once they start feeding as a flock it’s a competition to see who gets to eat. At that point they can keep watch on us, but feed right in front of us. 2 1/2 memory cards so the odds of a good shot were high LOL. Just have to find it. Thanks.
