A small flock of Spoonbills flew by, hidden at first by some marsh grass.
Lucky for me they gained just enough height to make interesting shots.

Amazing and beautiful moments! I struggle capturing birds in flight and you did a magnificent job.
Thank you. In flight shots are hard and take lots of practice, which I am most fortunate to get. The old argument about it not being the gear I don’t totally agree with. We have different cameras, and lens, used for different types of shots. I have a camera body I love and am very familiar with (Canon 70D), but it doesn’t work for me with in flight. A Sony 6500, new mirrorless system and great, not in flight. Canon 7D2, we have multiples and yes, it’s perfect for in flight. Lens, my Tamron locks slow, yet Sigma is a very fast focus. Both good lens and companies.
I get in flight with all the above, but some are much more consistent than others. For me it’s practice and gear…and lots of deletes of course.
Thanks.
