They do this all the time, drop down in the middle of all the others, or here, slide right into their private space.

Wood Storks are even worse. They have a huge wing span that takes out all the others around them.

    1. Ahh you spotted him. It’s a Tricolored Heron. Several have been hanging with the Spoonbills. I didn’t notice him at first.
      SInce the water was so low it was good feeding so different birds (almost) managed to get along.
