We spotted this Great Blue Heron sitting in a tree, full of Spanish Moss. He was most accommodating.
Both Ellen and I shot this, in different angles, with many different camera settings.
This Heron is the perfect poster for the South Carolina Lowcountry.
I’m sure I will finish some additional images in black and white, maybe matte, in any event this photograph will make another appearance on this web site sooner or later.

A perfect pose and a perfect image. I have been trying for ages to get the perfect picture of a heron who fishes the waterways near me (Northern UK). He’s not so accommodating.
The numbers are in our favor here. A rookery is down river, many are born there, and we are surrounded by marshes / swamps. Thanks for stopping by. A search for the word Heron will probably bring up hundreds more 🙂
