A favorite spot for Great Egrets. On one side is a river, the other an old rice field. In between is the dike where this bird is sitting. A wooden trunk, water gate, regulates flow… and fish.

When the water streams through here, the fish are pushed back and forth.

Egrets have learned to just stand here and watch.

Dinner will come swimming out right down below.

This Egret spotted something and dropped down while I was shooting.
