Yep, another of those ‘you can’t make this stuff up’ pages.

So… we are driving down this dirt road headed to a large marsh. There are plenty of trees and shadows along the wayso it’s slow driving. Especially when we see a tree limb over the road.

Stopping, and upon closer examination it’s not a tree at all.

I will say this, it wasn’t moving any faster than a tree so it was an honest mistake. Of course I got out of the car for closer visual.

The most movement was to open his mouth while looking at us. The car did not bother him one bit, so you know I wasn’t important.

The funny thing is both Ellen and I walked over, did the old ‘scoot’ thing (yes it does sound ridiculous now, but at the time…) waved our arms, even growling at him gave us nothing.

Good news, he turned!

And settled in a more comfortable spot.

There was no where to turn, besides even if we did it’s probably 2 miles (3.2 k) around the marsh just to get by a 3 foot (.9 m) temperamental Alligator.

Plan B went into effect. I walked by the front end of the car, Ellen drove forward slowly, getting closer, closer, and stop!

Finally he got up, not fast or in a hurry but it was progress.

Ultimately he moved to the left, allowing us room to pass on the right.

Last I saw the bugger he was standing on the side of the road giving us a dirty look as we drove off.
