The only bird I try to catch from behind.

Great Blue Herons have an extra layer of feathers (Caplet) along their wings and shoulders. When they land with outstretched wings the feather layers make a great image.

My position was perfect for this landing. He was kind enough to croak and squawk all the way, as only a big Heron can do.

LOL, pretty much. Considering they are almost as tall as me they can make a heck of an entrance.
