I don’t get very many shots of these. I have read this is where they winter.

They are about 18 inches (45 c) tall making them a larger shore bird.

I think the other bird here is a Sanderling, a small shore bird. This gives some perspective as to size.

When seen up close they are actually a nice looking bird.

Thank you. The smaller shore birds are usually not around here, only when the waters are low. I have a hard time giving an ID to these different species. The ocean is not very far so there is always a few ‘shore birds’ around.
