This is the back pond from an old plantation garden. It is still maintained, just not as before. It backs up to marshes and swamp now.

The Ashley River can be seen immediately behind. The Ashley flows 20 miles down stream here into the city of Charleston South Carolina.

The pond here was part of the oldest garden in the US. The plantation dates back to 1676.
