This bird looked like he waited too long to leave the water. Anhinga have no natural oils so they need to be careful when fishing.

I’ve seen them when they have waited too long and getting out of the water is really hard. No way can they fly at that point.

This one was fine and climbed up the ramps here and sat in the sun.
