One of the first birds to flock in the far marshes this year were White Ibis. I don’t remember they were there in any numbers at all last year.

The end of September some of the biggest flocks were made up of the Ibis.

I caught these shots as the birds came to land in small groups.

As I look as these photographs now I can tell where I was in relation to the low canals. You can see the lead birds heads are always turned in the same direction, a little off to their right and glancing down.
