A dull and damp back drop was perfect for this beautiful white bird.
I tried to follow the bird as he flew over the marsh but could not grab focus until the moment of landing. The old dead tree was directly in front of me, a great angle.
I’ll take it, the photographs came out better than I could have hoped for.

Thank you. Same time as the perfect pose Spoonbill. A few minuted later ‘herds’ of Alligators came out feeding. Damp day, great opportunities.

some birds sometimes position themselves to dry their wings. I notice it sometimes when I go to the woods near a lake
Some types of fishing birds must dry their wings since they have no oil like others.
