In these photographs you can see 3 huge Alligators trying to get the perfect location. A lot like 3 mini-vans going for the same parking spot.

These old wooden dike gates are big and heavy. These guys just pushed them open wider, you could hear the wood boards banging loudly from a distance. One opened the door and was almost inside.

Above there are 3, size equals who has first choice. Each of them were at least 10 – 12 feet (3.6 m).

(Wikipedia;  An average adult American alligator’s weight and length is 360 kg (790 lb) and 4.0 m (13.1 ft), but they sometimes grow to 4.4 m (14 ft) long and weigh over450 kg (990 lb). The largest ever recorded, found in Louisiana, measured 5.84 m (19.2 ft).

I used a short lens for these and I had the best seat in the house for the show.
