Wood Ducks In The (Green) Soup

There are still places where the duck weed and algae are thick and green. A soupy muck really. But if you’re a duck it must be pretty good.

I had been looking for the one wing female but had no luck.

There was a pair lurking around the the cypress trees. Plenty of hiding places here.

As long as we have some sun these 2 will stay around this spot. Not a great background for a photograph, but still… they are Wood Ducks.

    1. Light was difficult and lost most shots, lens not the right one either. But I did get a few 😀😀.

      Best is the male is actually missing a wing since birth. Been in the swamp and surviving since early last year. Now he may mate and have young. That is amazing. Smarter than the gators I guess 😂.
