Brown Pelican giving me ‘the look’.
These photographs were taken along a commercial shrimping pier. The pier is on a creek, and canal, that opens up to Charleston Harbor. Like everything here marshes border the open water.
Brown Pelicans, Egrets, and other shore birds know it’s an easy place to get a meal. When the commercial boats come in the place is loud and chaotic. Free food as the days catch is moved to shore.
Shooting here is a nice change of pace. Simple to get there, boardwalks over the water, and…. fresh seafood restaurants right off the piers.
It is definitely commercial, a far cry from our wildlife images. A nice change I think.
Of course there is wildlife here.
