The nights and mornings were colder so it was easier to find these birds after sunrise. They all want to get the warm sun.

The South Carolina Lowcountry is on the edge of the temperate and sub-tropical zones. All this means is we have a cold and hot season. For me the good news being we are more sub-tropical and I prefer the heat.

It’s rarely true cold here and the wildlife reflects it. However, rain we get winter and summer.

Rains OK, palm trees make good cover.
