This male has staked out a nesting site. He may or may not have built it last year. For right now it’s his.
This rookery has several nest site with only one bird.
Each time another Great Blue flies by all the single birds stand and give a hoarse loud call hoping to attract a mate. Eventually someone shows up.

Gorgeous bird!
Oh yes. All across the rookery you can hear the individual birds calling out. Each sounds different. I remember last year after a few weeks we could identify from a far which bird was calling to their mate. Magical !

We are on a grand adventure 😀. We have even wondered aloud if we had one more move left in us. Another locale, another environment, another adventure. It gets harder to do ….
You two are very adventurous! So a different environment by the sounds of it.. what would you have in mind?
