Small Eastern Phoebe

All along the edge of the swamps Phoebes dart. I think we must be their winter migration destination. One day I look and they are everywhere.

Photographing small birds is not what I do, they try my patience.

However, this bird usually has a pattern. They sit in a low tree branch, quickly drop to the swamp surface for an insect, land on a second low branch. Back and forth to the same spots.

When I see the routine, I stop and wait for a few minutes. Some times I’m able to get a shot or two.
