The gnarly lichen is as much a part of this photograph as the Ibis.

Swamps are filled with vegetation like this. From the duck weed and ferns on the waters surface to hanging Spanish Moss this landscape is nothing like what I had become accustomed to up north.

Oh, birds with blue eyes and curved swords for beaks were not all that common either.
