I thought I might not see a single Alligator. That almost never happens. Last year we had rare ice on the marshes and I still saw them, nose poking out of ice, but they were there.

The other day I walked out around large marshes and not a single one to be found, in the morning.

Around noon, sun finally out, a few emerged to float near the reeds.

None were on the dike road sides so I assume they were dug in by the cane and reeds. It’s cold enough at night now where they deep sleep and have no thoughts about eating.
