There is another swamp adjacent to the rookery. This Great Blue parked himself near some brush and waited for whatever came by.
I was on my way out and left him frozen in time. Never moving that I saw. Bet he caught something though.

I don know how you get these great heron photos. All I seem to do is scare them away! They are so skiddish! Yesterday I quietly tried to get a good shot of one, and he squawked at me like I’ve never heard before. It was like I tripped an alarm… Greta shots!👍🏻
The first time one squawked at me I just 3 feet in the air LOL. Many of these birds are too busy nesting to bother with me, others may have been born in this rookery.
