Early Morning Cormorants

A little dark, a little foggy, but the scene was worth it.

They are sitting on top of a ‘trunk’ on a marsh dike. This is an age old method of opening a wooden gate to let water in / out of marshes.

Wood is still used since it is easily repaired. The truck system has been here for hundreds of years. Some dating back to the early 1700’s.

Cormorants and Alligators probably sitting here for the same amount of time.
