This was an unusual spot for an Egret.
He had dropped down to the lowest branches of this Cypress Tree. Right over the water.
I know the bird was looking at sticks floating on the surface.
This is risky behavior.
Alligators wait near the surface for birds in just this type of spot. They can push up a few feet quickly to grab unsuspecting prey.
This bird got away with it, this time.
