Some of the old cemeteries in the Lowcountry remain as they have been for hundreds of years. This particular Chapel and cemetery are now on private land and protected.

The Receiving Vault was built to temporarily hold the remains of the deceased while the final grave site was being prepared. A few vaults are still preserved .

Structures are circa 1725 and part of a settlement that no longer exists.
