Most of the older cemeteries around Charleston have wrought iron fencing. I think it became popular in the mid 1800’s. Now most have a great deal of wear, rust, missing pieces.
However, I think it gives a nice, almost Victorian, character to the places I find it.
We should try to preserve them at best because just by looking at your photography we can easily plunge into the images of the past
