The dramatic shot. My own general description, but it fits here.

Of all the pieces that need to fall in place to get this photograph the first, and most important, is location.

I met a photographer from ‘away’ yesterday, in this same spot yesterday. We were comparing notes on other places to shoot.

We came back to the same conclusion several times. This swamp, and my general area, is the best for Egrets and Herons.

Every once in a while at home we have that ‘get up and go’ conversation. Exactly 3 years ago today we hit this spot in the Lowcountry…dog, spouse, and cameras. Guess we can stay a bit longer.
