The Great Egret was much too close. I tried a few quick angles with the camera, but my minimum zoom was 150mm.

I could only get part of the bird in the view finder so I opted for the top half.

I just wandered into him and I guess the Egret felt ‘hidden’ and secure in the thick reeds and grass.

Obviously he didn’t see it from my point of view.
