Technically that may or may not be true.
I tend to see many more Double-crested Cormorant in the fall and winter. I think some move a little inland to the marshes.
And of course it’s always nice to have a little ‘pink’ in a photograph.
Double-crested Cormorant, Roseate Spoonbill, ACE Basin, South Carolina.
Perfect pairing!
The Spoonbills have been scarce lately and Cormorants showing up more.
Wow lovely photo. I have seen many cormorants in my life. I remember seeing one for the first time around the place where I grew up, it was very rare while today there are many cormorants there now. I have seen them in different countries; USA, Japan, Cambodia, South Africa but I have never seen a Spoonbill. Will keep looking!
Spoonbills are the rock stars out in the marshes here LOL. Thank you.
Nice juxtaposition!
Thanks, we planned it in detail LOL
