Even with all the places around town to walk I usually at some point find myself in, or near, the French Quarter.
Anglin Smith always makes an interesting image, the gallery offerings and of course the building.
Classic Charleston.
There are still plenty of cobble stone streets. A small factoid; many of the cobble stones used were from the sailing ships in port. The stones were ballast and as the cargo was loaded, the stones were removed.
The building here with the brick red shutters has historical importance. For the life of me I can’t remember it right now LOL.
Mid-week, late fall or winter, is a great time to just wander the side streets. Fewer people to photo bomb the images.
I have been enjoying your posts on Charleston. I have never been there but my husband is taking me over the holidays this year. I can’t wait to wander around!
It is a special place. Be sure to visit some plantations outside town, dinner at Shem Creek over the bridge, and check out Bulldog Tours for things slightly different. This year I will be away and miss the decorations. Enjoy, take photos to share with us.
Sounds fantastic!! I’ll put those on my list!
