Impatience Heron

Impatience Heron

Animals, birds in particular, are not expressive. They are not built that way.

Except perhaps the Great Blue Heron. I have watched them up close for some time. Body language, feather display, and many other little things lead me to think this.

Her mate went off for a stick…and still hasn’t come back. This is not a happy lady right now. Kinda obvious isn’t it?

Note; during early nest building and courtship Great Blues will almost always greet a returning mate with a call, and at times a big Heron hug.
