These are more general interest type photographs. Birds don’t know the difference between beach and sand bar so I took liberty with the title.
Taken on Tarpon Bay, Florida.
About mid day large flocks of Willett will gather along the edge of these bars. Few looked to feed so I assume a place to rest.
Open space in the middle is usually filled with the bigger residents.
Almost every bar found will have a population of White Pelican. I never have seen any of the shore White Pelican feed. They must fly to inlets and dip along the surface in the shallow Mangrove Islands.
