Most of the time these birds are catching small, even tiny, fish to eat. That means a lot of hard work for a little food.
Every once in a while their luck changes.

In this case a nice size crab.

Better yet, no gulls around to steal it.

The poor Ibis were the ones the Gulls robbed most often.
But not this time.

I used to see White-faced ibises but not white. This ibis is so beautiful!
The White-faced are not around the East Coast as far as I know. Glossy Ibis are very close in color, easy to confuse I’m told.
