Rarely do I see the Yellow-crowned out in the open. Tarpon Bay, Florida looks to be the exception. Several times these shy birds were out in the shallows.

Very true about not seeing them out in the open. The few I’ve seen were just yards from me but I didn’t even notice them for several minutes; they sat silently in the foliage. Great photo!
