The red tones of these Egrets can make for nice images when the sun is down low.


It’s so difficult to get photographs of this bird I have perhaps gone a little overboard in shooting them. However given their long term outlook it would be a shame to not capture their beauty when I could.
Thanks. I guess this is a Reddish Egret – new to me as most egrets I’ve knowingly seen have been white – Great, Little, Cattle or Snowy.
Yep, this is a Reddish. They have a very small habitat, coastal southern Florida and up Louisiana / East Texas coast. Never migrate and facing extinction because of that.
