True to form this Phoebe returned to the same perch after each dive chasing insects.

Knowing this habit was the only way I would get these shots. Many people are great with small bird photography. I’m not one of them.


Patience and calm is needed for these birds. My usual line is ‘they give me a headache’. You can see the bird knew I was there and it was a long time getting him to settle in.

A common bird around marshes and swamps. I know I saw a few up north, but not like here.
You can predict birds behavior and their habits! I wish I could do it also. That is a beautiful shot of a wonderful little bird!
