The Great Blue dropped down and landed on one of the higher branches over this rookery. I’m not sure if this was a new comer or one that had already grabbed a nesting spot.
If he was new this was a good location. Fly in, then land in the wrong spot all the current tenants will come right out and chase him off.
Best to look around first.
This is the best time of year to shoot in a swamp. The big birds are looking for mates and few leaves on the trees.
