Great Blue Heron shot at the moment he dropped down into the nest.
This photograph managed to capture the birds large cape and shoulder feathers. A Great Blues cape is much more elaborate than other wading birds.

As this rookery becomes crowded with nests dropping into the right spot avoids territory disputes.

They are one of the few animals I will photograph from behind (Egrets too) because of that. Thanks.
