These are the ‘no thought’ type of shots. You see something happen and quickly take a few shots.
If your settings are right, you hit focus fast, and you have some luck…you might get something.
Most times it’s a delete when you get home.
Once in a while you get something to keep.

Wonderful in-flight shots, Ted. In addition to all of the difficulties that you noted, you also have to get pretty lucky with wing positions, especially when shooting multiple subjects. There always seems to be one bird turning its head as I shot or otherwise out of step with the others.
