Sometimes after standing frozen for what seems like forever, the catch is a tiny little critter.
Other times it’s the grand prize.

It was not an easy meal. This heron was like a statue for a long time. Us being there did not matter, he was busy.

Along this edge of the swamp is a prime location. While the surface may be covered in thick greens underneath are some large Bream.


He hung on the fish until it stopped moving…

Then quickly swallowed it, head first. Above you can actually see the Herons throat expand around it.
