During breeding season Spoonbills ‘enhance’ their pink color. Actually they become almost a rainbow.
Their famous pink color becomes the most subtle one.
Now it’s red, greens, and even deep orange.
They don’t stay this way very long. That’s probably a good thing. They can hurt your eyes LOL.
Wow! I have never seen that many colors on a Roseate Spoonbill. Of course, I have never seen one in the wild–the ones I have seen were at the zoo. Nice job, Ted, in capturing all of those bright colors. They are a welcome addition to my gloomy, rainy morning.

Only during breeding season. Other times typical wrinkled old brown LOL
