This area has always been remote, yet a farm and cattle ranch was here for years. Eventually they moved on leaving behind the home they had built.
Being 4 miles down a dirt road the land is now part of a wildlife area, the house just sitting here.
I’m convinced I will see a big Barn Owl looking out a window at me some day when I pass heading to marshes.
On this day I ventured inside looking for that Owl.
Not here, maybe next time. I’m still convinced.

What an adventure living here, in these wilds, a hundred years ago. Back then the Alligators and Boars were the good neighbors. There were also Panthers and Red Wolves all through here.
I would have loved that. I do not like people all that much.

What a find, I can just picture the place when it was built, the rooms look huge. And I love the low windows. What a place it must have been. It is a perfect home for an Owl.
Some day an Owl will be there !!!
