One minute he was standing perfectly still, the next instant a head long dive.
At first it looked like he had jumped into very deep water. It was deep, but if you look close you can see the bird is sprawled out on his chest.

In a moment he moved off to the other side of the swamp.
This thick covering is a favorite place for them to hunt.
That is so unusual to see a heron diving like that.
