A small non-stop motion little bird. But this was almost too simple.
Taken at a lunch break in a marsh. Ellen and two friends were trying to eat and catch shots of small/tiny birds at the same time. Very frustrating.
If you visit this site you may know I let others chase these ‘impossible’ little critters.
So… they ran back and forth, I ate, saw him, took the shot, I ate.
People can be as much fun to watch as wildlife.
Great pics of a beautiful bird! Funny story too🤣.
Thanks. Met two friends out in the marshes that day.
Beautiful shot, Ted, on a tiny bird that has a distinctive call, but often remains hidden in the leaf canopy, high in the tree. Great job in catching the gnatcatcher when it came down from the trees, perhaps to forage for food or gather nesting materials.
Thanks Mike. The grass here was lines the banks of an old rice field. It’s a favorite spot for smaller birds, especially Painted Buntings (which I missed that day).
Ted, these are great photos! I like this little gnatcatcher perching on the thin branch. We have these birds also, I saw them a week ago in the mountains.
Like Mike Powell mentioned, here they are usually up higher in the trees, no real shots to be had. Thanks.
Completely perfect!
Thank you.
